PROHIBITION OF SALE OF BEER AND SPIRITS (PRIVATE HOUSES) ACT - 1979 (AFRCD 33)

    • (1) No beer, stout, wine or spirit shall be sold on the premises of any private house.

      (2) Notwithstanding any enactment to the contrary, any licence granted to any person under the Liquor Licensing Act, 1970 (Act 331), in respect of the sale of beer, stout, wine or spirits on any premises specified in subsection (1) of this section shall cease to have effect.

    • (1) No person who operates any bar licensed under the provisions of the Liquor Licensing Act, 1970 (Act 331) shall engage in the distribution of beer, stout, wine or spirits.

      (2) No person engaged in the distribution of beer, stout, wine or spirits shall use his premises or any part thereof as a bar and any licence granted under the Liquor Licensing Act 1970 (Act 331) in respect of such premises or part thereof for use as a bar shall cease to have effect.

    • Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Decree shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not less than six months or more than five years without the option of a fine and in addition any beer, stout, wine or spirits in respect of which the offence was committed shall be forfeited to the State.

    • In this Decree, the words bar, beer, wine and spirits shall have the meanings assigned respectively to them in the Liquor Licensing Act, 1970 (Act 331).
